FAQs
Q: Where do you get your ideas?
A: From everywhere. Books, films, dreams, real life... It's just the way I see the world, which is a pretty childlike way, to be honest. You have these thoughts like, "What would you get if you crossed Jane Eyre with Spartacus?" or What if that statue in the park came to life?" or "I wonder what it's like to be a magpie?" Then you have to do some actual work to turn it into a story.
Q: Why is your website called Hidden Grove?
A: The Hidden Grove was the name of an Elf colony in my "Handmaid of Gondor" fan fiction series, my first success as an adult writer.
Q: Are your stories self-published?
A: No. All my published stories are published because an editor somewhere accepted them. This is the same for online magazines as for mainstream books. Even my first fan fictions were accepted by people who ran Tolkien sites.
Q: Have you ever thought about writing for children?
A: Like most authors, I write the kind of stories I like to read. Most have young people as major characters because I like coming-of-age stories, and I hope they appeal to both young people and adults.
Q: Why haven't you published your songs for money?
A: Fiction writing is my vocation; song writing is a hobby. If all my creative activities involved business, there would be no relaxation in my life!
Q: Where can I read your stories?
A: Just keep coming back to the Hidden Grove and follow the links!
